This week’s RouteHero* is Anchor House Ride For Runaways!
*Motivated by the amazing number and diversity of philanthropic organizations that use RouteArrows, our goal here is to share with you some of these unique organizations and their endeavors that are bettering people’s lives, their communities & our world.
We’re humbled and honored to be playing a “Roll”!
In 1978, a group of caring community members in Trenton, New Jersey created Anchor House to offer homeless and runaway youth safety, stability and ongoing support reuniting with family.
Today, Anchor House Inc. provides shelter, school outreach, transitional and supportive housing, and street outreach to at-risk youth, ages 12 to 21 years of age, throughout the state of New Jersey.
Anchor House’s major fundraiser is a 7 day, 500 mile multi-state cycling adventure!
2018 was the 40th Anniversary of “Ride for Runaways”, a truly impressive accomplishment!
We are inspired by this organizations commitment to this important cause and look forward to their continued success! Their event has an amazingly long list of diverse community donors and sponsors, it has nearly 200 participants and over 30 volunteers on the annual journey.
